I really like this quote. Thomas J. Watson was the founder of IBM

The way to succeed is to double your error rate.
Thomas J. Watson

Doubling your error rate means that you are taking chances and trying new things. Sounds like the right stuff-- at least to a point. ;-)

In other news, I bought a bicycle (another bicycle, DH says meaningfully-- as if he doesn't have more than one bicycle, or multiple horns of various descriptions). It is an elegant-looking old steel Raleigh, very like the one I had from about fourth grade through my grad school days, except it's green instead of blue, and it has ten speeds instead of three. In this town, with all the hills, the main speed for me is probably SLOW. But that's okay. I was thinking of it as a commuter, and I think with the old style ladies bicycle, I could even ride it in a skirt. I used to, back in the day. It should be delivered one day this week, and time will tell.

overwhelmed, a bit

dear daughter accuses me of writing only if I'm in a bad mood, or what she calls "fragile-faced" (very evocative, she is). I don't think that's the case, so much as that I use this kind of writing to deal with moods that might otherwise be inflicted on my nearest and dearest. Y'all have broad shoulders, for the most part. She and son/brother are out of town visiting grandma. DH is recovering from sinus surgery....I hope it helped, otherwise it's a lot of misery for naught. Take care, all.

garden? maybe

I'm trying to garden in a yard that is full of shade and shadow. I love my trees, and they help keep the house cool, but it's maddening to try and grow tomatoes or roses or anything that needs sun. Sigh.
